AIT was opened (at Omae-cho, Ashikaga City)
School of Engineering was opened with first-year quotas:
Dept. of Mechanical Engineering - 80 students
Dept. of Electrical Engineering - 80 students
Dept. of Architecture - 40 students
April 1971 Quota for Dept. of Architecture was increased from 40 to 80 students
April 1973 New departments were opened, with first-year quotas:
Dept. of Civil Engineering - 80 students
Dept. of Industrial and Systems Engineering - 80 students
April 1987
First-year quota for each department of the School of Engineering was increased from 80 to 110 students
April 1990 Master's Degree Program of Engineering Study at the Graduate School was opened, with first-year quotas:
Mechanical Engineering - 5 students
Electrical Engineering - 5 students
Civil Engineering - 5 students
April 1993 Master's Degree Program of Engineering Study at the Graduate School was expanded, with first-year quotas:
Architecture - 5 students
Industrial and Systems Engineering - 5 students
April 1996 Doctoral Degree Program of Engineering Study was opened at the Graduate School, with first-year quotas:
Production and Information Engineering - 3 students
Construction and Environmental Engineering - 2 students

April 1998 The department names of the School of Engineering and the courses names of the Program of Engineering Study were revised:

Dept. of Industrial and Systems Engineering became the Dept. of Industrial and Information Systems Engineering
Master's Degree Course of Electrical Engineering became the Course of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Master's Degree Course of Industrial and Systems Engineering
became the Course of Industrial and Information Systems Engineering
August 1998 Research Center of AIT was opened.
April 2007 Dept. of Industrial and Information Systems Engineering became the Dept. of Systems Information Engineering.
April 2011 Five Departments become Five Divisions and eleven Programs of study.
